Obituary in Methodist Local Preachers Magazine Br. James Rowe was born in Flushing, (Falmouth Circuit) on July 30th, 1827, and was a local preacher for about 50 years. After a brief illness, he passed away at his son's house (Falmouth) on December 23rd 1905 and was laid to rest on the 27th, in the presence of the circuit ministers, several local preachers and many influential members of the church, he was so much loved. Bro. Rowe was a close student of the Scriptures and an able preacher, a man of wide reading, intellectually strong and of blameless life; he exercised a ministry that was appreciated, and his influence will abide. |
